Privacy Policy

Overview

FeedRama is built with privacy in mind. This policy describes what information we collect when you use the FeedRama Chrome extension, why we collect it, how it is used, and the rights you have over your data. We collect the minimum amount of information necessary to operate the service.

Information We Collect

To enable Pro access and manage user accounts, we collect a limited set of information:

• Email address — provided when you sign in on feedrama.com. After sign-in, the marketing site mirrors your email and an authentication token into the extension so your Pro status is recognized.
• User ID — an internal identifier used for database reference.
• License key — applicable only to Pro subscribers; used to verify your purchase made through our payment provider.
• Account status — whether your account is on the Free or Pro plan.
• Subscription type — your active subscription plan (monthly or yearly).
• Account creation date — the date of your first use or Pro purchase.
• Usage counters — the number of transcriptions, downloads, and sorts performed this month, used to enforce the Free-plan quota (5 transcriptions/month, 10 downloads/month, 25-post sort range). We store counts only — never the audio, never the transcript, never the posts you sorted.

We do not collect or store your browsing history, the Instagram or TikTok content you view, posts you scrub or fast-forward through, your saved posts, your transcripts, the audio you transcribe, or any other personal activity on those platforms.

Any post data, captions, engagement metrics, audio, or transcript text surfaced through FeedRama is processed locally in your browser. This data does not leave your device.

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to:

• Verify and activate your FeedRama Pro license.
• Keep your Pro status recognized in the extension after you sign in on feedrama.com.
• Maintain accurate account records.
• Enforce feature and usage limits (such as the 5-transcription-per-month, 10-download-per-month, and 25-post sort range quotas on the Free plan).

We never sell, share, or rent your personal information to any third party for marketing or advertising purposes.

Local-Only Data

Several FeedRama features run entirely on your device and never transmit data to our servers:

• Sort — reordering and metadata extraction happens in your browser using data fetched directly by your browser from Instagram or TikTok. FeedRama does not see or proxy this data.
• Scrub bar & fast-forward — playback controls run client-side and never report which posts you watch.
• Downloads — videos and images saved to your computer go directly from the platform to your device; FeedRama does not see or proxy them.
• Saved posts & folders — when you save a post, the post URL, thumbnail, and your folder choice are stored only in your browser's local storage on this device. They are not synced to FeedRama servers and are not available across devices.
• Transcription — runs entirely on-device using a Whisper neural-network model and your browser's WebGPU. Audio is decoded and transcribed locally; neither the audio nor the resulting transcript is sent to FeedRama or any third party. The model file (~150 MB) is downloaded from Hugging Face on first use and cached in your browser.
• History — your local download and transcription history is stored in browser storage on your device only.

Chrome Permissions

FeedRama requests these Chrome permissions:

• activeTab — to send commands from the side panel to the active Instagram or TikTok tab when you click an action.
• storage and unlimitedStorage — to persist your settings, saved posts, and history locally in your browser.
• sidePanel — the main FeedRama interface lives in Chrome's side panel.
• contextMenus — adds a single right-click "Sort this profile with FeedRama" option on Instagram and TikTok pages.
• offscreen — required so the on-device Whisper transcription model can run with WebGPU; service workers cannot host WebGPU directly.

FeedRama also requests host access for www.instagram.com, www.tiktok.com, and the Instagram and TikTok content CDNs (*.fbcdn.net, *.tiktokcdn.com, *.tiktokcdn-us.com). This access is used only to read post data, thumbnails, downloads, and audio you explicitly request; it is not used to track your browsing or to access unrelated websites.

Third-Party Services

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to operate FeedRama:

• Lemon Squeezy — handles payment processing and license key management.
• Cloudflare (Pages, Workers, D1) — hosts feedrama.com, validates licenses, and tracks the per-account usage counters used to enforce Free-plan limits. No saved posts, transcripts, or audio touch our servers.
• Hugging Face — hosts the open-source Whisper model file that your browser downloads on first transcription. Hugging Face only sees a standard CDN download request and does not receive any of your audio, transcripts, or account information.

Each provider receives only the data needed to perform its specific function and operates under its own privacy and security policies.

Data Storage & Security

The account information described above is stored securely in Cloudflare D1, with industry-standard encryption and authentication practices. FeedRama does not store sensitive information such as passwords or full payment details. All other data — saved posts, thumbnails, transcripts, history — lives only in your browser's local storage.

Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as required by applicable law. If you request deletion of your data, we will remove your record from our systems promptly. Saved posts, transcripts, and download history live only in your browser's local storage; clearing extension storage or uninstalling FeedRama removes them.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time by emailing us at [email protected]. We will respond to all privacy-related requests within a reasonable timeframe.

If you are located in the European Union, we process your information under the legal bases of legitimate interest and user consent, in accordance with the GDPR.

Children's Privacy

FeedRama is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a child has submitted information through FeedRama, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Analytics and Tracking

FeedRama does not use Google Analytics, third-party cookies, or behavioral tracking scripts. No data about your activity on Instagram, TikTok, or any other platform is collected or shared for advertising purposes.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The most current version will always be available at feedrama.com/privacy. Continued use of FeedRama after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
