Choose Instagram’s Posts tab for a mixed profile-post review and Reels when your question depends on Reel views. In FeedRama, views require the Reels tab, while date-window filtering is available on Posts and disabled on Reels. The tab changes both the controls you can use and the content included in your sample.
Try the workflow in Chrome
Use FeedRama on a supported Instagram or TikTok page, and check the available range and actions in your account.
Add FeedRama to ChromeChoose the tab from your research question
| Question | Starting tab | Scope note |
|---|---|---|
| Which recent posts received likes? | Posts | Use a defined count or available date window |
| Which Reels received the most views? | Reels | Use a post-count scope |
| Which posts generated conversation? | Posts or Reels | Keep the content group consistent |
| What is the earliest retrieved item? | Either, with Oldest | Verify collection coverage and dates |
Do not choose a tab simply because it is the first one open. A product launch analysis may need photos and carousels, while a video-hook analysis needs playable Reels.
Keep the sample consistent across sorts
If you sort Posts by likes and Reels by views, the results may not contain the same items. A change in the top result could reflect a different sample as well as a different metric. Record the tab in your notes alongside the chosen sort.
To compare metrics, keep the same collected set whenever possible. Export the available fields and perform a second ordering in a working copy of the sheet, rather than silently replacing the collection between comparisons.
Run the supported workflow
- Install FeedRama from the Chrome Web Store in desktop Chrome, then reload the Instagram or TikTok tab.
- Open the profile and deliberately select Posts or Reels.
- Choose the available collection scope. Use a count on Reels.
- Select the metric, run the sort, and read any partial-results status.
- Record profile, tab, scope, metric, and collection date before interpreting the results.
The Instagram sorter and date guide explain the controls. Use comment-count research for a conversation-focused review.
Write a conclusion that identifies the population
“Most-liked among the 50 collected profile posts” and “most-viewed among the 50 collected Reels” are different findings. Keep that difference in the headline of your report, not buried in a footnote.
If you need to compare formats, group the exported posts by type first and use a suitable metric for each group. Do not interpret absent video views on a photo as evidence that the photo failed. The export guide helps you inspect the fields before analysis.
Frequently asked questions
Which tab supports view sorting?
Use the profile’s Reels tab for FeedRama’s Instagram view sort. The ordinary Posts tab does not support that metric.
Can I date-filter Reels?
FeedRama disables date-range filtering on Instagram Reels. Use a post-count scope; Oldest is an ordering option within collected items.
Are Posts and Reels the same sample?
Do not assume so. The tab determines the content being collected, and comparisons should record that choice.
Can I compare likes and views?
Yes where both values are available for the same comparable posts. Keep the sample consistent and avoid treating unavailable values as measured zeros.
What should my research notes include?
Profile, tab, metric, collection scope, date, result count, and whether the run was partial.
